This book was originally produced in English and German by subRosa and James Pei-Mun Tsang as part of their Yes Species performance art project for the exhibition “Intersex 1-0-1,” at Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst, Berlin, June-August, 2005. Translations: Nanna Heidenreich. Partial funding was provided by the Creative Capital Foundation, New York, and by NGBK, Berlin. A revised second edition was produced in English and Spanish for the performance of Yes Species as part of the exhibition “Cyberfem. Feminisms on the Electronic Landscape,” curated by Ana Martínez-Collado, on display at EACC, Espai d´art contemporani de Castelló, Spain, October 20, 2006 through January 21, 2007. Generously funded by EACC with translations by Carlos García Aranda y Lambe & Nieto. You can download sections of both editions below in PDF format.

subrosa and James Tsang are uncommonly coupled, and will offer every possible explanation of yes species. Redundancy moves in tandem with spiritual healing. The biological body is inspiration.

imagine….a clearing in the forest is populated with a living montage of becomings and unbecomings. Greetings and other exchanges transpire in a semi-digital staging of interruptions.

imagine….in a clearing in the forest a symposium of erotic philosophers exorcises gender sickness. Witches, athletes, herbalists and yes species moan, choking on the silver apples of the moon, the golden apples of the sun.

subRosa und James Tsang bilden eine ungewöhnliche Verbindung und werden jede nur mögliche Erklärung der yes species anbieten. Redundanz und spirituelle Heilung bilden ein Tandem. Der biologische Körper als Inspiration.

stell dir vor….eine Lichtung im Wald ist mit einer lebenden Verbindung aus Werdenden und Vergehenden bevölkert. Begrüßungen und andere Formen des Austausches ereignen sich in einer halb-digitalen Inszenierung von Unterbrechungen.

stell dir vor.…in einer Lichtung im Wald ­exorziert ein Symposium von erotischen PhilosophInnen die ­Geschlechterkrankheit. Hexen, SportlerInnen, ­Kräuterkundige, und die yes species stöhnen, und ­verschlucken sich an den silbernen Äpfeln des Mondes, den goldenen Äpfeln der Sonne.

subrosa y James Tsang forman una extraña pareja que resolverá todas las incógnitas planteadas por yes species. Lo superfluo se da la mano con la curación espiritual. El cuerpo biológico como inspiración.

imagina….un claro del bosque poblado por un montaje viviente de devenires y des-devenires. Saludos y otros intercambios sucediendo en una escenificación semidigital de interrupciones.

imagina….en un claro del bosque un banquete de filósofos eróticos exorcizando la enfermedad del género. Brujas, atletas, herboristas y yes species atragantándose con las plateadas manzanas de la luna, con las doradas manzanas del sol.
